Announcements for the Week: 02-21-10
- Our own Pastor Watley has been chosen to represent the AME Church in the first gathering of the 3 African Methodist denominations in nearly 50 years. Come and join us as we take a bus as a church to go and witness history at The Great Gathering in Columbia, SC. Sign up sheets are located outside the office, and further information can be found on www.greatgathering.org.
- There will be a Rites of Passage planning meeting on Thursday at 6:30pm in the Boardroom, St James Newark. Anyone interested in helping us to shape this program are invited to attend. Please see Sis. Lorna Johnson for more information.
- PSE&G is urging its customers to see if they are eligible for help to pay their winter heating bills. Those who recently lost their jobs, or are now working fewer hours because of the economic downturn, may now qualify for assistance programs. The federal Low Income Heating Assistance Program (LIHEAP) has allocated $177 million to New Jersey to help low income households pay their winter heating bills. Individuals and families may now apply; applications are available in the vestibules and will be accepted until April 30, 2010. (Sister Carin Burwell will bring the PSE&G applications on Sunday)
- March 1st is the final day to submit your $300 deposit for the Travel Club trip to Brazil.
- Joshua Conference-April 4/28-30. Complete information is available on our website. You may also register at the hospitality table. The Conference is open to both clergy and laity this year. All members are strongly urged to attend, as there will be valuable information for all.
